Why Hiide?
Nowadays life moves so fast. It can feel like we’re always in a rush.
To get somewhere, to start the next task, to organise the next thing. And when we do get a second, our phones are pinging us for attention.
Somewhere along the way, we’ve forgotten how to slow down. To take a pause, a deep breath and just do less.
That’s why we built Hiide. Off-grid cabins, hidden in wild corners of Portugal.
Because we feel the best way to slow down, is putting yourself in the middle of nature. No distractions, no neighbours. Just wide open views and space to hear yourself think.
We’re Marcus, Andrew & David
We met for the first time in Lisbon. Each of us coming out of stressful corporate jobs and personal lives that felt too rushed and too busy.
We bonded over our shared promise of spending more time outdoors. Because well, just look around, we’re in Portugal. It has some of the most beautiful wild landscapes in Europe.
Every weekend we were out exploring some new corner of Portugal. For us, the more remote, the better. Deep into nature with no one else around.
We began wondering, why isn’t there an easier, more comfortable way to stay out in the middle of nature.
We started to imagine off-grid cabins perched on top of valleys and on the banks of rivers. Hiide was born.
