Hey, welcome to Hiide. Before you head off-grid, here’s the small stuff we need you agree to when you book - designed to keep things fair, safe, and stress-free for everyone.
Booking & Payment
1.1 Booking Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once payment is received in full. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking details shortly after.
1.2 Pricing
All prices are listed in Euros (€) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to adjust pricing due to seasonal rates, promotions, or errors.
Cancellation & Changes
2.1 Cancellation Policy
Cancel 28+ days before check-in: Full refund.
Cancel 14–27 days before check-in: No refund, but you can reschedule.
Cancel less than 14 days before check-in: No refund or reschedule.
We also highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. This can cover you if you need to cancel less than two weeks before check-in, as we’re unable to offer cancellations or changes within this timeframe. Travel insurance can also cover health or family-related issues.
2.2 Rescheduling
We offer one free reschedule up to 14 days before your arrival date, subject to availability. Additional changes may incur an admin fee. In any case shoot us an email and we will try to accomodate your request.
Cabin Use
3.1 Check-in / Check-out
Check-in: From 3:00 PM.
Check-out: By 11:00 AM.
Early check-in or late check-out may be requested and is subject to availability.
3.2 Occupancy
Each cabin is designed for 2 adults. Some cabins may accommodate one small child or pet. Check the listing for details.
3.3 Pets
Pet-friendly cabins are be clearly marked. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after pets and preventing any damage. A fee is stated at checkout and must be added if bringing a pet. Failure to do so, will result in a double charge after stay.
3.4 No Parties or Events
Hiide is designed for peace and quiet. Loud noise, parties, or disruptive behaviour are not allowed.
Liability & Safety
4.1 Use of Facilities
You acknowledge that the cabin is in a natural environment, possibly with uneven terrain, wildlife, and remote access and phone signal. These risks can not be accounted for by Hiide Cabins. Guests are fully responsible for your own safety during their stay.
4.2 Injuries and Accidents
We are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or health issues that may occur during your stay, whether inside the cabin or on the surrounding land. This includes—but is not limited to—injuries caused by:
Slips, trips, or falls inside or around the cabin
Use of wood stoves, kitchen appliances, or other cabin features
Encounters with wildlife or insects
Adverse weather or natural conditions
4.3 Activities and External Risks
Guests who engage in any recreational, physical, or outdoor activities (e.g. hiking, swimming, kayaking, rowing, climbing, biking, etc.) do so at their own risk. We do not supervise or offer guided activities, and we are not responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred while engaging in such activities.
4.4 Personal Belongings
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings at all times. We accept no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to any property brought to the cabin, including cars parked at the site.
4.5 Children and Pets
If children or pets are brought to the property, guests are fully responsible for their safety and behavior at all times. Our properties are not childproofed or specifically designed for young children.
4.6 Damage & Breakages
Please treat the cabin with care. Significant damage beyond normal wear and tear may incur a charge to cover repairs or replacements.
4.7 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including extreme weather, pandemics, or natural disasters.
Equipment Hire & Liability
If we offer optional equipment hire (including but not limited to e-bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, or other recreational equipment), the following terms apply:
51. Use at Your Own Risk
All equipment is provided for recreational use only and is used entirely at your own risk.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you are physically fit, competent, and capable of using the equipment safely.
5.2 Safety and Compliance
You must follow all safety instructions provided by us and correctly use any safety gear supplied (such as helmets or life jackets).
You agree to comply with all applicable Portuguese laws, maritime rules, and local regulations while using the equipment.
5.3 Condition of Equipment
Equipment will be provided in good working order to the best of our knowledge at the start of the hire period.
You must inspect the equipment before use, report any defects immediately, and stop using it if you believe it is unsafe.
5.4 Damage, Loss, or Theft
You are responsible for any loss of, theft of, or damage to the equipment (beyond normal wear and tear) during the hire period, and for covering the full cost of repair or replacement.
5.5 Exclusion of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Portuguese law, we shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, or claim arising from the use of hired equipment, whether on land or water, under any circumstances.
This exclusion applies to you, your guests, and any third party using the equipment during your hire period.
5.6 Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, legal actions, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from or connected with your use of the equipment.
Data Protection and Marketing
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This includes using your data to manage your booking, comply with legal obligations, and — under the GDPR “soft opt-in” — send you occasional emails or messages about similar stays, offers, or experiences you may enjoy. You can unsubscribe from these marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email or by contacting us directly.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of the relevant jurisdiction.
