A handy guide

Here’s everything you need to prepare for your stay

🛍️ What you need to bring

  • Food and drink - meals for your stay. The BBQ is ready to go.

  • Clothes - chill wear mostly but active wear and shoes if you plan on hiking.

  • Bug spray - for the evenings, or pack some long sleeves / trousers.

  • Good book - or maybe a journal and sketch pad. Analog is best.

  • Drinking water - we provide bottled water but just in case you run out.

Nearest supermarket to Trot - Intermarche & Aldi (Azambuja)

Reminder: cabin has a bar fridge, so it’s not possible to store large amounts of chilled food and drink. See a picture here to get an idea of the size.

🧻 What’s already in the cabin

  • Toiletries - loo roll, soaps, shampoo and body wash.

  • Kitchen basics - olive oil, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, drinking water.

  • Kitchen equipment - fridge, pans, plates, cups, cutlery, coffee maker.

  • Towels - large, small, hand towels and shower mat.

  • Entertainment - books, board games, conversation cards, polaroid camera.

  • BBQ - gas bbq, cooking utensils, spare gas bottles.

🌞 What to do while I’m there

  • Slow down - scan the view, watch a sunset, chat, laugh.

  • Move body - unfold the yoga mats out on the terrace.

  • Write, read, sketch - get it out your head and on paper.

  • BBQ - spend a long afternoon cooking outside.

  • Games - play board games like yahtzee or backgammon.

  • Deep chats - conversation cards for quality time together.

  • Wildlife watch - grab the binoculars and spot native birds.

  • Hiking - get out there, explore the trails in our ‘field guide’.

  • Explore nearby - towns, sites, restaurants in our ‘field guide’.

🚙 How to get there

Nearest town: São Bartolomeu da Serra

Drive - entrance location is here. And then follow step-by-step directions sent to you one day before your arrival.

Reminder: you have chosen a cabin in the middle of nature. The final 15 minutes are on a bumpy dirt road. Drive slow. Your car will get dusty. But trust us, it’s worth it.

 

Have you booked Trot ?

Nearest town: Valada

Drive - entrance location is here. And then follow step-by-step directions sent to you one day before your arrival.

Train & Taxi - 37 minutes from Oriente (Lisbon) to Reguendo - Vale da Pedra - Pontevel. 15 minute taxi from the station. End location will be sent to you 1 day before.

Reminder: you have chosen a cabin in the middle of nature. The final 10 minutes are on a bumpy dirt road. Drive slow. Your car will get dusty. But trust us, it’s worth it.

 

🔑 Key info

Check-in: 15:00 | Check-out: 11:00

Lock-box code: will be sent to you one day before arrival.

Tip: try not to arrive in the dark, the final roads can be tricky to navigate at night.
