Kitchen 🍽️

Drinking water

  • Please do not drink the water from the taps or shower.

  • The water is good quality, but we just want to be doubly safe.

  • There is a large water dispenser of drinking water on the counter

  • We recommend using drinking water for cooking as well.

Kitchen sink

  • When washing your plates and dishes after eating, we would appreciate if you:

    • A) brush off any waste food / coffee grinds into the food waste bin.

    • B) food left at bottom sink? Please use kitchen roll to remove.

    • C) avoid flushing excess food down the kitchen drain.

  • Excess food can cause problems to our off-grid setup, so this helps us massively.

  • Try not to leave any open packaging or crumbs lying around. Best not to give ants and flies a free lunch.

Cook hob

  • The cooking hob runs on gas and can burn very strong when you first turn it on.

  • Therefore, it is worth keeping it on the lowest setting while cooking. To turn on, push down and to the left.

  • We recommend using the front hob for cooking with a frying pan. And the back hob for boiling water in pans.

Toilet & Shower 🚿

Toilet

  • We have installed eco-toilets which work slightly different to what you are used to.

  • You need to piss and poo in two different areas of the toilet. It’s easy.

  • Piss at the β€˜front’ - it’s easiest when you sit down. Even the men, just consider it a holiday luxury.

  • Poo at the β€˜back’ - when you sit down the hole automatically opens.

  • You can put toilet paper in the back hole. There is no flush.

Shower & taps

  • Our cabins run off-grid and are not connected to the water main.

  • So please be responsible with your water usage. That might mean not leaving taps running or having a slightly shorter shower than normal.

  • All our soaps, body wash and shampoo are environmentally friendly bio-products.

Living space πŸ›‹οΈ

Air conditioning & fan

  • The AC unit is simple to use. We have pre-set it to a cold setting, so you should only need to press the on/off button (press once and wait) and temperature up or down.

  • We know the cabin can get hot during the day. The AC runs off our solar battery, so the only thing we ask is that you be responsible with its usage.

  • Please do not sleep with the AC unit on. We have a fan next to the bed which can keep you cool while you sleep.

  • Please make sure both appliances are off, if you leave the cabin for the day.

Wall-mounted remote control thermostat with display showing 19Β°C, set to cooling mode, with buttons labeled ON/OFF, MODE, FAN, TURBO, I FEEL, T-ON, T-OFF, TEMP, CLOCK, LIGHT, WiFi, SLEEP, and others.

Doors & windows

  • Please keep the door closed while coming in and out the cabin.

  • This is to avoid insects getting inside, particularly in the evenings.

  • You might find one or two still slip past your defences - don’t be alarmed, it’s all part of being out in nature.

  • All the windows are easy to open. But avoid keeping open for long periods of time.

  • Please be careful with the large window by the bed, it’s very heavy and can be difficult to open / close. Avoid forcing it.

Pets

  • We welcome furry friends. We know they love the cabin as much as we do.

  • We only ask that you keep them off the bed and cushions, to make it easier for our cleaners to deep clean the cabin.

πŸ“Έ Other Items

Nightstand with a small black lamp, a vintage camera, a tan hardcover book, a backgammon board with chips, and a pillow on a bed with beige bedding

Polaroid camera

  • Push down the silver button and pull out the lens, which will have film already in it (check number on back). If it’s run out, no worries, you can find another pack of 10 film on the top shelf.

Fireplace

  • We do not allow the fireplace to be used during summer (May-October). Fireplace equipment will only be available in the cabin during winter periods.

Umbrella

  • Our locations can get very windy, so when not in use, please take down the umbrella and tie it up. If you need to move it, there are wheels at the bottom.

Shoes

  • Time to ground your feet to the earth. We ask if you could please leave shoes outside to avoid bringing in dust, dirt and rocks. Our cleaners will be very grateful.

BBQ

  • Runs on gas. To turn on, follow these steps. 1. Twist the black gas knob anti-clockwise until it is loose. 2 With your right hand, find the circular wheel, push in and twist it towards you (anti-clockwise). 3. At the same time, with your left hand, push down on the light button 4. Hold down both while it clicks until the flame or heat appears 5. Turn off gas when you’re finished.

Outdoor seat cushions

  • We have stored the cushions inside the cabin for when you arrive to stop them getting dirty. All you have to do is grab them and put them out.

Coffee maker

  • We have stocked up a jar with our favourite coffee beans. If you’re not used to grinding your own beans and using a Bialetti, here’s a quick youtube video.

Waste

  • Bins are under the kitchen sink and are labelled for general waste, recycling and food waste.

  • We are a sustainable company and want to keep waste as sorted as possible.

πŸ”₯ In case of fire

1. Fire extinguisher

  • Find the extinguisher above the front door

  • Pull the pin

  • Aim at the base of the fire

  • Squeeze the handle

  • Hold it in front of you (like a shield)

  • Leave it in place for at least 15 minutes

  • Turn off the heat source if you can safely do so

*Only use on small fires and only if it's safe to do so.

*Not working? Immediately call Emergency Services (112)

3. Emergency Services (call 112)
